3CX Licence Renewal in Dubai
Has your licence lapsed and the phones gone quiet? On expiry, a 3CX system drops to a single simultaneous call — so for most offices, calls simply stop getting through. Datavox renews the licence, restores your FQDN, and brings every extension, queue and your Etisalat or du trunk back — in most cases the same working day. Send us your FQDN on WhatsApp and we’ll tell you exactly what’s needed.
If calls have stopped getting through,
here is what has happened.
It is not your phones, and it is not broken. When a 3CX licence expires, the system does not switch off — it drops to a single simultaneous call. So the first caller might get through; everyone after them hears nothing. Nothing has been lost yet. The licence has lapsed, and the system has gone into its expired state. The fix is not a rebuild. It is a renewal.
Calls drop to one
The licence falls back to a single simultaneous call. One line in or out at a time — which for most offices means callers hit a busy system and stop getting through.
The apps stop pushing
The iOS, Android and web clients stop receiving push. Staff working from home or on the move stop getting their calls — the office number rings on nothing.
Queues and ring groups stop
Call queues, ring groups and contact-centre routing stop distributing calls. Whatever logic sent callers to the right desk is no longer running.
Call recording stops
Recording stops capturing calls, and voicemail transcription stops. For any business that keeps recordings for compliance or quality, the record simply stops.
Voicemail-to-email stops
The system stops emailing voicemails out. Messages left after expiry do not reach inboxes, so missed calls go unseen as well as unanswered.
Busy-lamp status goes dark
The presence and busy-lamp fields on desk phones stop updating, so staff can no longer see who is on a call. The system is still there — it has just gone quiet.
The clock you can’t see
The moment a 3CX licence expires, a clock starts — and there is no grace period. This is why renewal is not something to leave for next week.
Day 0 — Expiry
The system drops to one simultaneous call. Push, queues, recording, voicemail-to-email and busy-lamp status all switch off. The phones are effectively quiet, but everything is still recoverable.
Day 5 — Hosted systems deleted
If your system is hosted by 3CX, the hosted instance is deleted. Renew after this and you are redeploying to an empty system — your configuration only comes back from your own backup.
Day 30 — Key and FQDN deleted
3CX permanently deletes the licence key and your system’s FQDN. Both are gone for good. After this there is no renewal — only a clean rebuild, re-provisioning every extension, IVR menu, queue and trunk by hand.
How Datavox brings it back —
in most cases, the same day.
For most expired systems, restoring service is a renewal, not a rebuild, and it happens the same working day. No re-provisioning. No lost settings. Here is exactly what we do.
1 — You send your FQDN
Message us your 3CX FQDN or licence key on WhatsApp. That is all we need to identify the system and see exactly what state it is in.
2 — We quote in AED first
We tell you exactly what is needed and what it costs in AED before anything is ordered. No surprises, no work started without your go-ahead.
3 — We renew and restore
We renew the licence and restore the system to full simultaneous calls. The expired state lifts and the phones come back to their proper capacity.
4 — Everything back, verified
Your extensions, IVR, queues, recording and your Etisalat or du trunk return exactly as they were. We confirm inbound and outbound calling before handing it back.
Renewing before it lapses
If your licence has not expired yet — if you are here because a renewal date is coming up — this is the simpler path, and it costs less than restoring a system after the fact.
Annual, not perpetual
3CX is now an annual subscription — perpetual one-time licences have been withdrawn. Renew before the expiry date and nothing is ever interrupted. The system simply keeps running.
Lock in up to three years
A licence can be renewed for up to three years at once, fixing it for that period with fewer renewal dates to track. For a business that wants to set the phone system and forget it, this is often the simpler choice.
We check your sizing first
3CX sizes a system by simultaneous calls against extensions. If your team has grown, the renewal may need a larger licence. We check your extension count against your licence before you renew — so a change is known in advance, not discovered after.
An old key that won’t renew?
You don’t have to rebuild.
There is one more situation we see often: an older free or perpetual key that simply will not renew anymore. If that is where you are, your setup is not lost — it moves.
Perpetual licences withdrawn
3CX no longer sells one-time perpetual licences — every edition is now an annual subscription. An old perpetual key may no longer activate or extend.
The free tier is closing
Existing free 4-call keys run to the end of 2026, but new 4-call keys can no longer be hosted by 3CX. For new systems, the free route is effectively closing.
We migrate, not rebuild
Datavox moves your existing configuration — extensions, IVR, queues, SIP trunks and call routing — onto a current licensed system, usually without rebuilding from scratch. You keep your setup; only the licence changes.
Why renew through Datavox
A 3CX renewal is a small piece of work that goes badly when it is left late or handled by someone who does not know the system. Datavox does this every working week.
Titanium Certified Partner
Datavox holds the highest 3CX partner tier. The renewal, the sizing and the restore are handled by an authorised partner, not guessed at.
Restored the same day
Most expired systems are back to full calls the same working day, with a 2-hour remote response for AMC clients and same-day on-site across central Dubai.
On-premise, your own trunk
3CX in the UAE runs on a server at your premises with your Etisalat or du SIP trunk. We renew and restore the system where it lives — it never leaves your building.

What Dubai businesses say about their 3CX renewal.
"Our licence expired over the weekend and on Sunday morning no calls were coming through — the whole office line was effectively dead. I sent Datavox our FQDN on WhatsApp and they explained it had dropped to a single call. Renewed and fully restored the same morning, every extension and the Etisalat trunk back exactly as before. They also warned us about the 30-day deletion window, which I had no idea about."
"After one near-miss the year before, we renewed early and locked it in for three years. Datavox checked our extension count first because we’d added staff — turned out we needed a larger licence, which they sized correctly before we paid. Fixed cost, no drama, and because it runs on our own server the call recordings stay in the clinic."
"Our old perpetual key simply stopped renewing and I assumed we’d have to rebuild the whole system. Datavox migrated everything — extensions, IVR, the lot — onto a current licence in an afternoon. We didn’t lose a single setting, and they quoted the AED cost up front before touching anything."
